
Scott Dietzen is vice president of the Applications group at Yahoo!. In this role, he helps look after Yahoo! Mail, Yahoo! Messenger, Flickr, Groups, Answers, and Zimbra.
Previously, Dietzen was president and chief technology officer of Zimbra, which was acquired by Yahoo! in 2007. Prior to Zimbra, Dietzen was CTO of BEA Systems, where he was responsible for overseeing the technology and business strategy for WebLogic. He is credited with helping to put together the J2EE standard, to launch the Web application server category, and to drive the Web services collaboration with Microsoft and IBM.
Dietzen earned his Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science and B.S. in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University.
